From The Campaign Trail

Congratulation to all those who organised the Sustainable Jamboree Forum last week, at the Centenary State High School Performing Arts Centre. This provided most political candidates with an opportunity to present their respective polices on the critical issues around climate change, the environment and energy. More importantly it revealed the determination of residents in the area to embrace climate change challenges at a local level. I remain convinced that there is no lack of understanding at the local level on these issues. It is political leadership that is now vital. With the right political leadership there is every chance that we can meet the challenges ahead. Again, congratulation to the organisers - a successful, well-attended evening.
